Upon
recommendation of the ordination council that questioned Tim Miskimen’s
doctrinal stand and beliefs, Maplelawn ordained him in a ceremony on May
20, 2001.
Pastor
Green challenged and exhorted Tim from the Bible. He related to him that
God holds those with the privilege and responsibility to teach His word
to a higher standard than others.
If
all goes as planned, Tim and Charlene’s ministry will take them to
Singapore where Tim will teach national pastors and leaders. His
advanced education with the Grand Rapids Baptist Seminary provided him with a
Master of Divinity degree and a Master of Theology degree. These
credentials qualify him to him to teach and train pastors in their own
region of the world.
Deacon,
Dr. Mike Sullivan, brought a challenge to the church to support Tim, his
wife and two boys with prayer and encouragement. Echoing those
sentiments were other board members, John Campbell, Kim Paavola and
former pastor Rev. David Smith.
The
Deacon Board and other ordained men gathered around Tim and offered a
prayer on his behalf, that he might faithfully serve an almighty God no
matter where the Lord leads him.
Tim
was raised in a Christian home and when he was five years of age, he
repented of his sins and asked Christ to come into his life. At age 13,
he surrendered his life to whatever vocation the Lord had for him.
He
attended Cedarville College and pursued a pre-seminary degree. In his
junior year, he met Charlene who would be his future wife. After an
eight month missionary internship with ABWE in South America, Tim
returned to marry Charlene.
The
Miskimens have already taken a "survey trip" to Hong Kong and
Singapore. They believe the Lord is leading them to serve in Singapore
where Tim will work as a professor, teaching and training regional
pastors.
Tim and Charlene Miskimen originally hail from Ohio – Tim from Canton
and Charlene from McDonald. They were married in 1992 and have three
children. Click on this link
